Professor Bruce Hoffman will be award a Doctor of Literature (DLitt) on Tuesday 30 June 2026 during the afternoon ceremony.

Professor Bruce Hoffman is a leading authority on terrorism and insurgency whose scholarship has shaped international understanding of political violence over more than five decades.
Professor Hoffman has spent more than 50 years studying terrorism and insurgency, establishing an international reputation as one of the foremost experts in the field.
He has held senior academic and research appointments at Georgetown University, the RAND Corporation and the United States Military Academy at West Point, contributing extensively to scholarship and policy development.
He has served on the FBI’s 9/11 Review Commission and has acted as adviser to a range of government and intelligence organisations, including the CIA.
He is the author of several influential works, including Inside Terrorism, widely regarded as a seminal text in the field, and God, Guns, and Sedition (2024).
